2018 Summer Sophie

An eNote from Rev. Nancy

Friday, August 24, 2018

The dog days of summer seem to be leaving us with this glorious weather! I pray you have had a chance to feel the cool of the breeze in the morning and the low humidity warmth of the afternoons.

Thank you so much for your prayers for safe travels while I took Sophie back to Maine and had some time off. We had a wonderful trip, ate our share of lobster, and got her settled onto the 4th floor (no AC, no elevator) of her dorm. I felt rejuvenated and have been excited to be back with my church family this week. A special thank you to Darryl D., Lee, Andrew, Nolan and Darryl P. for keeping things moving along!

As we look toward Sunday, I offer these reminders:

Please let us know ASAP if you will be attending our Sabbath Meal next Wednesday, Aug 29, 5 PM, and if you need child care. This will be a child friendly event – we just need your RSVP as the free dinner is catered.

Please bring water from your home to place in our baptismal font for 3 baptisms that will take place Sunday – Pierce, Keaton & Fiona Ruch will be baptized and their parents, Karl and Julie Ruch will be making it all official as they join the church family for which they have already been so integrally involved.

Our children and youth will be taking a special part in this Sunday’s worship, so please come and support them as they lead us in closing out the summer and leading us into a new week.

Here’s a quick picture from one of our Maine walks!

See you Sunday and remember to bring some water for the baptismal font!

Peace~

Nancy✜
