Be Church

An Enote from Rev. Nancy

Friday, August 31, 2018

Last Friday, I was privileged to attend a Shabbat service at Beth Ha Tephila across town with Phillip & Julia Gibson. It was particularly striking that we all turned to the temple’s doors as the sun was setting while they sang a prayer (one of many sung prayers).  Their Sabbath begins at sundown. Ours begins (traditionally) at sunrise. And this past Wednesday, those gathered in the Fellowship Hall were treated to a Sabbath meal and reminded how important it is to find Sabbath, to make Sabbath happen, whenever we can set aside time for God, and to let that be God’s time. Time to enjoy God’s presence, Creation, and loved ones with whom God has blessed us. That truly happened on Wednesday evening!

As we head towards our Sunday Sabbath, here are a few reminders:

Pritchard Park Breakfast is this Sunday. Meet at Trinity at 8:30 AM to help serve or meet at Pritchard Park by 9AM. And thank you for serving and donating food on behalf of your church family!

Scriptures this Sunday include James 1:17-27 and Mark 7:1-23 and we’ll break bread at the Lord’s Table with Holy Communion.

Newsletters for September have been mailed! Let us know if you are not receiving this and would like to. It is also available on our website.

Looking forward to being the church with you this Sunday!

Peace~
Nancy✜
