An eNote from Rodney

Dear Trinity Congregation,

Thank you for working with us last Saturday and Sunday as we responded to the snow storm. If we have another storm and you are in doubt about services, we post closings on the WLOS website. The TV scrawl takes forever but if you go to the weather page of their website there is an alphabetical listing of all closings.

The Finance Committee has a request for you. Because we missed last Sunday we missed an offering. If you are in worship this Sunday will you make up last Sunday’s missed offering. Thank you for your consideration.

Sunday will be the third Sunday of the month and that means it is a “Little Red Wagon” Sunday. This Sunday we will be collecting paper products for Trinity Place Shelter for Homeless Youth”. This is the only shelter of its type in Western North Carolina. They are always in need of TP and paper towels so thank you for helping them out. If you will keep your items with you the kids will have a good time coming around during the singing of the first hymn and picking them up from you.

I have reworked last Sunday’s sermon a bit but I still intend to preach from the Baptism of Jesus and what it means for us to receive a new name. Jesus receives the name “beloved” when he is baptized by John, and the glory that God gives Jesus God also desires to give to us. Again, the scripture passage is Matthew 3:13-17.

Keep our church family in your prayers and I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Sincerely,

Rodney
