Places we serve:
Little Red Wagon: On the third Sunday of each month the children of our church pull a little red wagon through the sanctuary. Members of the congregation place canned goods in the wagon and this food goes to various community organizations that help the hungry.
Our church participates in feeding the homeless on Sunday mornings in downtown Asheville.
Partnership with Hall Fletcher Elementary School: We have prepared meals for student-teacher-parent evenings, helped prepare a weekend grocery take home program for students and their families and help them when they are in need of notebooks and pencils.
Guatemala Medical Mission: Trinity members Jim and Diane Thompson have established a medical mission in Guatemala where they live and serve. Trinity offers them regular support.
This past year during the 40 days before Easter Sunday (the church season of Lent) we saved money as a spiritual discipline and gave it to International Justice Mission. IJM helps rescue children from work slavery and sexual slavery in Africa and Asia.
The November Warm Morning Pancake Breakfast: Our United Methodist Men maintain a fuel fund to help folks during the winter who need assistance with their heating bills. The pancake breakfast is the major source of funding for the breakfast.
During the Year Trinity host several music concerts. All of these concerts raise money for charitable organizations in the Asheville area. At Christmas the Asheville Jazz Orchestra does Stan Kenton’s big band arrangements of Christmas hymns. The Smokey Mountain Brass Band, a traditional British brass band holds a concert in the fall and the a cappella group Pastyme, performs a Christmas concert for us.
These music events have raised money for Habitat for Humanity, Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry, Meals on Wheels, the Humane Society, The Asheville City School Foundation, Western Carolina Rescue Ministries and Pisgah Legal Services.
Our church also supports the work of Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry, Meals on Wheels and the Manna Food Bank.
Our members are involved on a personal level with ministries in our community.
