Happy 1st of December, Church Family!
The sanctuary looks so lovely, thanks to many hands. We had a blast hanging the greens!
I am really looking forward to begin Advent and celebrate Communion with you all this Sunday. The readings for the day are:
Feasting on the Word’s Household Prayers that have often been printed in the bulletin and are now available in a booklet for Advent through Pentecost. Copies are on the Hallway table and the Narthex for you.
If you are looking for a simple Advent Calendar, here’s one I found that reminds us that, as I say in my “Friday Lecture” to Sophie and Jeremy, “Kindness counts!” Check out the Kindness Advent Calendar for 2017.
Remember all gifts for the school children from the Angel Tree are due this Sunday. The church is bustling with activity (including Church Council after worship), so make sure to check out the weekly calendars as well as the Trinity Times newsletter which should be in your mailbox soon if not already there.
Here’s the Morning Prayer for the 1st week of Advent from Feasting on the Word:
Thank you, God for the gift of life today.
I give thanks that your face shines upon me – for you are my salvation.
Lead me like a shepherd through this day.
Strengthen me for whatever lies ahead.
Grant me the spiritual gifts of peace, patience, kindness, and gentleness,
for I want to show your love,
in word and deed, to others.
In Christ’s name. Amen.
See you Sunday!
