Holiday Edition

Dear Trinity Church Family,

Thanks to all the decorators who prepared the sanctuary for Advent/Christmas.  The poinsettias came in on Wednesday morning and the sanctuary looks lovely.  As we go into the Advent season, I hope this year we can take it slowly and enjoy the beautiful story of God becoming human and dwelling among us.

I also wanted to thank you all for your gracious welcome of my mother Hazel.  My sister and brother-in-law came into Asheville on Tuesday afternoon and this morning they headed back to Alabama with Hazel.  Cheryl and I will see them again at Christmas.

Your pledge forms are coming in and the Finance Committee appreciates that.  There is still plenty of time to mail in your form, make your pledge online from the church website or bring it to the church on Sunday morning.  The finance committee thanks you for your support.

Our music director, Lee Thomas, sings in an eight member a cappella musical group called Pastyme.  I have asked Lee to put their schedule in the newsletter and bulletin soon.  Imagine eight voices with Lee’s talent singing together with no accompaniment.  It is lovely.  They will be performing several times around town during the Advent/Christmas season and if you have the opportunity, you will enjoy hearing them.

I hope you are enjoying these lovely days and I will see you on Sunday morning.

Sincerely,

Rodney
