An Note from Rodney

Dear Trinity Congregation,

This Sunday is a big day for our congregation. We will start at 10:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall to meet and hear a presentation from Sharon Blythe. Sharon directs the ministry “Room In The Inn’” which helps homeless women get into housing and a stable environment. A number of local churches help her do that and she wants to tell you about her ministry. Sharon will be joined by one of her clients. Thank you to the Sunday School classes who gave up their hour so Sharon could come and speak with us.

Our second big event of the day will be our annual Christmas Pageant. We will start with a covered dish supper at 5:00 pm and then the youth will tell us the Christmas story with their own unique twist to things. The church will provide a main dish so bring sides and desserts. We will then go upstairs for a little more Christmas and to sing hymns. Lee, Nolan and the Strings will be playing that evening. Invite your friends!

Here is a note from Andrew:

Join Heart of the Cross and our Asheville High World Changer Club for Parent’s Day Out hosted at Trinity UMC on Saturday, December 17th from 10:00 – 2:30. This event is for children age 4 – 5th grade at a cost of $25 per child. This day of fun will include high energy games, crafts, a holiday movie, and many exciting activities, ALL TO HELP OTHERS DURING THIS SEASON OF GIVING! All proceeds from this event go toward our work to support housing, medical, and nutrition programs in the Dominican Republic. Recently, the north coast of the DR where we serve has been devastated by flooding. These funds will provide materials for home repairs, medical clinics, and food programs. Contact Jessica Tripp at jtripp@heartcross.org to register your child for a day of fun that will help our neighbors in need. Children should bring a lunch.

Parking Lot Update:

The parking company has begun to stripe and number the Balm Grove lot and the lot behind Shooks; the cold has kept them from finishing this week. Parking will not begin to be enforced until sometime next week. We will have a table set up this Sunday after worship if you would like to pick up a parking sticker to identify you as a church member. This sticker will allow you to park in the metered lots at no charge. Remember, the lot behind the church will not be metered. It will always be open parking.

Some Dates:

A Stan Kenton Christmas next Friday, December 16, at 7:00 pm. Invite your friends!
Music for Christmas Eve will start at 5:15 and the service will begin at 5:30. Invite your friends!

This Sunday will be a wonderful day in our congregation and I look forward to being with you for the shared faith and festivities.

Sincerely,
Rodney
