Calling Disciples

An Enote from Nancy

January 19, 2018

(This is our bulletin cover for Sunday, which I wanted to share in color by Dr. He Qi, professor at Nanjing Union Theological Seminary in China. )

We made it to Friday, folks! Snow and ice are melting, and hopefully kids will be back in school on Monday!

If you’re headed to the store before Sunday, please pick up some extra paper products for our RED WAGON SUNDAY mission drive. This month we are supporting Trinity Place, where homeless youth are served in a safe, caring environment. Grab an extra pack of toilet paper or paper towels and place them in the red wagon that the children will pull around the pews during the opening hymn.

One of the most blessed acts we do is to praise God for the life of beloved church family members. This weekend we are celebrating the lives of Hoyle Grose, whose service is Saturday, Jan. 20, 2 PM, as well as Barbara Taylor, whose service is Sunday, Jan. 21, 3 PM. Please hold these families in your prayers in the days and weeks to come.

Sunday’s worship will focus on our call to unity as Christian sisters and brothers. Our texts are Jonah 3:1-5, 10, Psalm 133, and Mark 1:14-20.

Remember, Game Night is this Sunday, 5-7 PM. Bring a friend, your favorite game, some snack food, and be ready for some fun with the church family! It will be a great chance to mix amongst the ages and learn some new names, too.
