An enote from Nancy

December 15, 2017

No more snow today, folks, but there’s plenty more to catch our attention at TUMC this weekend!

Remember, tonight is the annual Asheville Jazz Orchestra’s Stan Kenton Christmas concert, which begins at 7PM. A special offering will be taken, shared between the AJO’s educational program in schools and TUMC’s Bless the Schools outreach fund to assist local school kids with additional needed items like glasses, medicines, and field trip fees.

Tomorrow at 10 AM the kids and youth will gather for their final Christmas play practice, and those of you who are willing to help, we’ll be taking down the stage and setting things back in order for the 3rd Sunday of Advent.  It’s Red Wagon Sunday, too, so please remember to help bring items to support Emma Elementary & the Family Resource Center (most-needed items are: Cereal, Dry Beans, Rice, Peanut Butter, Jelly, Tuna, Pasta, Pasta Sauce, Macaroni and Cheese, Cooking Oil, Sugar, Self-Rising Flour, Corn Meal, Laundry Soap, Dish Detergent (not for dishwashers), Shampoo/Conditioner, Deodorant, and Diapers.)

Sunday evening, 5 PM, is our annual Christmas Covered Dish and Play, starring our children and youth! Bring a favorite veggie, meat, salad, or dessert and the church will provide the drinks. You will not want to miss this event and support the kids! Trinity Strings will also be providing music.

Hope to see many of you tonight!

Peace~
Nancy
