An eNote from Rodney

Dear Trinity Family,

I am truly excited. In the afternoons I have been listening to our organist, Nolan Anthony, prepare for his organ recital this Sunday at 3:00 pm. He will be playing some engaging compositions and this will be a wonderful display of his talent. Grab a friend by the elbow and bring them to hear this music. After Nolan plays there will be a reception in the Sprinkle Bagwell room behind the sanctuary and the nursery will be available for the performance.
As we approach Holy week, take a look at the Last Supper/seder meal that Andrew and the youth have planned for us. It will be an intimate recreation/explanation of the last supper followed by a meal. Make reservations on Sunday morning or call the office, 253-5471

The dates and times:

  • Tuesday March 24, 5 and 6:30pm
  • Thursday March 26, 5 and 6:30pm
  • Sunday March 29, 5 and 6:30pm
  • Wednesday April 1, 5 and 6:30pm

From comments I have received, the first worship service in the fellowship hall went well. We continue to ask for your patience as we work out the kinks. This Sunday both the Children’s choir and the Trinity Strings will play music so we hope we have figured out the microphones. We are very fortunate to have our fellowship hall. You will notice that the cross and candle holders on the alter table are made of wood. During Lent we use more humble items to remind us of the somber nature of the season. Carlos Kennedy made these items and we are thankful.

Thursday the crew working on the elevator laid rebar in the deep hole they have been digging and a first round of concrete will be poured today establishing a foundation for the elevator. There has been some heavy work which has kicked up some dust. As we move through the building please try to remember to close doors behind you. This will help keep the dust from travelling through the building.

AND SO! We are asking for some help to dust and clean the sanctuary on Saturday morning so that the sanctuary is perfect for Sunday afternoon. We can also set up the Sprinkle Bagwell classroom for the reception. If you have a dust cloth and some Pledge please bring it. We will start at 9:00am. Thank you. If you know someone who likes to help but doesn’t have email please let them know about this.

On Sunday we will talk about another metaphor Jesus used to help us understand his father. The scripture will be John 10:1-15 and it is where Jesus compares himself to a Shepherd. Don’t forget, on Sunday the Children, led by Andrew, will sing and the Trinity Strings will sing. I hope to see some of you in the morning and I am looking forward to worshiping with you on Sunday.

Sincerely,
Rodney
