An eNote from Rodney
Friday November 6, 2015
Dear Trinity Church Family,
This Sunday we will look at the fourth of our “Five Practices of A Fruitful Congregation.” The practice we are looking at is risk taking mission and service. What I don’t want this to be is a harangue about how we ought to be doing more. Trust me, I have preached those sermons to myself and they never do much good. The title of the sermon is “Service that Comes From the Heart.” In the class I have been taking at Fruitland Bible College, I have been breaking down the first verses of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. In Ephesians 1:4, Paul reminds them that God chose them to be holy and blameless before him in love? What if service were done not out of moral obligation but out of Ephesians 1:4. What would our lives look like if we truly took to heart the knowledge that God chose us to be holy and blameless before him in love. You can build a beautiful life on that little bit of knowledge.
Duke plays Carolina tomorrow and Alabama plays LSU. May your ball team do well and I look forward to seeing you on Sunday morning.
Sincerely,
Rodney
