An eNote from Rodney

Dear Trinity Congregation,

This Sunday, for the second year, we will spend the afternoon at Camp Tekoa. At the camp there is swimming and canoes and paddle boats and rocking chairs and a nice porch for folks to sit on. Actually I think there is a zip line over the lake; Cheryl rode it last year. You can take a walk if you would like. The church is providing hot dogs and hamburgers and we are asking you to bring sides and desserts and friends if you would like. The day starts at 2 and runs to 6pm. Darryl Parker will take the van and he will leave the church at 2:00pm, if you would like to ride with him.

This Sunday is Little Red Wagon Sunday. We will collect items for Asheville Middle School pantry: canned fruits, cereals, juices, crackers of any kind, granola, fruit, cereal bars, fruit cups, snack packs, any non-perishable foods. Remember, you can bring the items on any Sunday or drop them off during the regular church office hours in the week. However on the third Sunday (Red Wagon Sunday), please keep them with you at your pew and place them in the wagon when the children come around during the opening hymn.

I am asking you to keep our two new pastors in your prayers. The senior pastor will be Nancy Dixon Walton and Darryl Dayson will be our associate pastor. They are both saying goodbye to churches they are now serving and preparing for their moves to Trinity with anticipation. The receiving of new pastors is one of the grand events of our connectional Methodist system. Let us prepare to receive them into the heart of our body of Christ. They will bring with them the next chapter of ministry for Trinity. These are exciting times.

And I will see you on Sunday; Methodist Men and Sunday school and worship and then Camp Tekoa. Sounds like a good day. Oh, and the Trinity Strings will be playing on Sunday morning.

Sincerely,

Rodney
