Dear Trinity Congregation,

I want to start by apologizing for the font problem we have been having the past several weeks and we may have the problem today. I hope we can soon figure out our Mailchimp account out and get this fixed.
I am excited about Easter Sunday morning because it’s Easter Sunday morning. It is always a lovely celebration. We start in the Harrison’s front yard at 1 Glen Falls Road in North Asheville at 7:30 am. Then at 10:00 a.m. we have an Easter Egg hunt and fellowship in the front yard of the church. There will also be coffee and small bites. When it’s nice out I love how we spend that time in the front yard of the church. We will worship at 11:00 am.

When you come into the Sanctuary on Sunday morning you will notice that the altar area of the church has been stripped. This was done at the Maundy Thursday service and reminds us that during the time of Jesus’ death, life with God is barren. You will also see lots of lilies in the pews.

As we are singing the first hymn, folks will bring up the altar pieces and put them in place. You are invited to bring forward any lily plant that may be near you. There will be youth arranging them in the front of the sanctuary. Pass your lily to one of the youth. You may also at this time bring forward your Lenten coin folders. There will be a basket up front for them. This money is going to Trinity Place Shelter for Homeless Youth and a program at Asheville High that helps college freshmen with financial needs to set up their first dorm room.

Patty Higgins will be our organist this Sunday. Nolan and his mom Debra are in New York City with the Carolina Youth Sympathy of Greenville, SC. On Easter afternoon at 2:00 pm. Nolan will be playing in Carnegie Hall. And how do you get to Carnegie Hall? (Practice, Practice, Practice). Keep a good thought for Nolan and Debra on Sunday afternoon.

It’s Good Friday. It’s a somber holy day. But it’s hard not to enjoy it and the spring it brings with it because we know how the story ends. I look forward to worshiping with you on Easter Sunday Morning.
