An eNote from Rodney
Dear Trinity Congregation,
The scripture lesson assigned to the church this Sunday, called the “Lectionary Lesson”, is Luke 24:13-35. The passage is about the dejected disciples meeting the resurrected Jesus on the road to Emmaus. In that encounter with Jesus the disciples find new hope. The passage is Luke 24:13-35. If you have time between now and Sunday morning, please look it over.
Speaking of finding a new hope, right after the sermon we are going to celebrate a baptism. We will use our normal time of passing the peace to offer words of encouragement to the parents and family. At the close of our service on Sunday our Staff Parish Relations Committee Chair, Vicki Biggers, will announce to us the name of our new pastor being appointed to Trinity during Annual Conference at Lake Junaluska in June. May we be in prayer for Trinity and our new pastor as we enter this exciting time.
In light of all the special collections we have taken up over the past several weeks, thank you for your generosity and your spiritual maturity. You are a marvelous congregation and when we speak and act as one, it is a lovely thing. “How very good and pleasant it is when the kindred live together in unity.” Psalm 133:1
I am looking forward to seeing you on Sunday morning.
Sincerely,
Rodney
