Happy 1st day of June! Summer is just around the corner…and so is some sunshine!
 
A few reminders as we head towards Sunday and Summer:

HAYWOOD ROAD CLEAN UP
THIS SATURDAY – June 2 – B’FAST AT 10AM

CLEAN-UP BEGINS AT 10:30AM

It’s Communion Sunday and the beginning of our Summer Sermon Series, “Spending the Summer with Samuel.” Our texts include  2 Corinthians 4:5-12, Psalm 139, and 1 Samuel 3:1-20. Our own Rev. John McCullough (retired from the Alabama-West Florida Conference) will be our guest preacher.
 
And borrowing some announcements to share from Andrew to which we’re all invited:
Pritchard Park – This Sunday, starting at 8:45AM.  Please consider bringing some boiled eggs, as we ran out of those last time.  Also, if anyone needs a ride to/from the park, let Andrew know and we’ll find a way to transport.

Children First – Our friends at Children First: Communities In Schools at Emma Elementary are having their annual food drive on Wednesday, June 6, at Carolina Furniture Concepts on Airport Rd all day.  We have agreed to help during their peak hours from 4:30-6:30PM.  To sweeten the deal, we’ll go eat afterwards at Culvers.  To ride the church van, be ready to leave the parking lot by 4:00, we’ll be back around 7:30.  If it’s easier to meet out there, be there at 4:30.

Carowinds – So far, about six people have expressed interest.  The group rate is ~$35 per person, and $46 with fewer than 15 people.  The scheduled date is Tuesday, June 19th. Please let Andrew know by Sunday, June 10 if you plan to go.  After that date, I’ll let the rest of you know in case $46 is too much.  

Community Softball – Starting Thursday, June 21, we’re playing Softball at Reeve’s Chapel with the folks from Haywood St (friends and volunteer groups).  Andrew will drive the van from the church at 5:30 for those that don’t want to meet there.
