What an incredible week we’d had – lovely weather, a great gathering of the Mary Mann Class and friends hosting Mark Bailey from Givens, sounds of Azalea Mountain School children in play practice downstairs, bells and voices practicing! …AND PASTOR DARRYL IS BACK!!! Woo hoo!!!
Remember, we are having a mid-year Charge Conference next Wednesday, June 13, 6 PM (and it has to end by 7 for choir practice!). On the agenda are setting clergy compensation, July 1 Picnic on the Porch along with the Patriotic concert updates and a presentation from Pastor Darryl on an enlightening community engagement project planned for the summer (come and see and you’ll get the pun!).
I’m looking forward to starting another good week in the company of God and you, the church family.
We continue in week 2 of our Summer Preaching series on the stories of 1 & 2 Samuel. Scripture for Sunday includes:
2 Corinthians 4:13-5:1
Psalm 138
1 Samuel 3:19-20; 8:4-20, 11:14-15 as our focus text for the sermon. We encourage you to read through this text ahead of time.
Some of you may have received this reminder from Andrew Tripp. I want to share it with all the church family:
Remember, our TUMC youth will be helping with the Food Drive for the Children First program at the Carolina Furniture Concepts South Asheville location on Airport Rd from 4:30-6:30.
TODAY ONLY! Until midnight tonight (June 8th), your donation to Children First/CIS, will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Carolina Furniture Concepts!
Put “Carolina Furniture Concepts Match” on the Comment Section or on your check and send it to 50 South French Broad Ave. Suite 246 Asheville NC 28801.
Here is a link to give on-line: Children’s First Matching Donations
Thanks, Andrew, and our youth for representing TUMC in the community and helping our neighbors at Children First.
See you Sunday!
Peace~
Nancy✜
