Trinity United Methodist Church

Pastor Darryl Dayson

Growing up in a military family, Darryl lived in many places in the Southeast but spent a large portion of time in Charlotte, NC before attending college at Appalachian State University where he received his Bachelors of Science in Psychology. It was at App State where Darryl learned of and fell in love with the United Methodist Church and discerned a call to ministry. From there he attended Duke Divinity School and completed his Masters of Divinity before being commissioned as a Provisional Elder in the United Methodist.

You can find Darryl spending time with folks on the margins down at Haywood Street Congregation, meeting with people at local venues here in West Asheville, and hopefully, wood working with folks at Givens Estate.  Darryl has a unique ability to get along with people from all backgrounds and would love to meet you and hear your story!

When not at Trinity UMC, Darryl also serves as the pastor of Berry Temple UMC in downtown Asheville. Darryl is married to a United Methodist Pastor, Rev. Jessica Dayson who serves at UNC Asheville as the campus minister of the Asheville Wesley Foundation. He became a dad in December of 2015 to the rambunctious and ever-so-serious little boy, Malachi. Darryl enjoys rock climbing, good coffee, playing drums, and living in the community.
