An eNote From Rodney
Friday February 26, 2016
Dear Trinity Congregation,
First a note about the font size the last couple of weeks. My guess is that I have hit some button by mistake and it has changed the font. Mark Locklear is going to help me this morning and see if we can fix the problem. Thanks for hanging in there with us.
Andrew is starting to plan for Easter Sunday morning and the Easter Egg Hunt. The Education Committee is asking you to bring individually wrapped candies to put into the eggs. There will be a collection box in the hallway behind the sanctuary for the candy and thank you for your assistance.
Last week I announced that I was going to do a sermon series for Lent looking at some of the themes in the Gospel of John. I have decided not to do this. The material I was using was not engaging me and therefore was not helping me write sermons that speak to our congregation during this time. This Sunday I will preach from the suggested Church readings. The Gospel lesson for this week is an obscure little report in the life of Jesus from Luke 13:1-9. This is the main passage from which I will speak.
We are going to celebrate the upcoming birth of Kelly and David Hertzinger’s new baby on Sunday after worship in the Parlor downstairs. Come by and say hello to David and Kelly. On Sunday March 6th after worship we will have a covered dish lunch in the fellowship hall. Beverages will be provided so bring your favorite main course, side dish and or dessert. Invite a friend or neighbor for worship, fellowship and lunch.
Stay warm and I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
Sincerely,
Rodney
