An eNote from Rodney

Dear Trinity Congregation,

Spring Fling: Don’t forget that tomorrow from 3:00 to 5:00 we will have our Spring Fling in the front yard of the church. There will be games for the children, a bake sale and barbeque. Andrew needs some help with setup, takedown and the bake sale. There will be games for the children and a bouncy room. This is a fundraiser for the youth but also a time for us to be together. You will be able to buy tickets for the barbeque at the event.

Mother’s Day Pictures: We are going to put the cork board up in the hallway and encourage everyone to bring a picture of your mother to put up on the board. We will start this week and when Mother’s day is over you can take your picture home. It can be a picture of several people with your mom in it. Bring a picture of your mom and let us all see how wonderful she is.

The Haywood Street Congregation is going to hold a Plant Sale and Garden Tour, on Saturday May 1 from 12:00 to 4:00 PM. It will benefit Haywood Street’s Downtown Welcome Table, which is a meal where folks from different backgrounds gather and dine together. The folks at Haywood have put together an interesting garden behind the Haywood Street building. Check it out. Their website address is www.haywoodstreet.org .

In the 13th chapter of the Gospel of John, Jesus commands his disciples to love each other as he has loved them. I guessing the disciples found that a tall order. How can we love each other like God has loved us? And what about that command part, what does that mean? We will look at this passage on Sunday and I am hoping something that will encourage our faith comes from it.

Sometimes folks respond to my eNotes. If you reply to this message it will go to the main office and then Lee forwards it to me and sometimes that takes a day or so. I will try to always put my email address below and you can respond directly to me.

I look forward to seeing you tomorrow at the Spring Fling and on Sunday in worship.

Sincerely,

Rodney
